Hi,

I am currently building a Azoo tank which will be looking add a variety of gorgonian, seafans, dendro and feather stars and was looking for different feed mixes.

I was considering the FM Gorgonian system and with in your information in relation to the amount for feeding. I am looking to utilise a cooler with a venturi system to deliver the feed to the tank regulary and i understand the gorg mix will be stable for a week at room temps.

Can you advise on how i can create a mix volume that will last a week for a tank and sump volume for a dedicated NPS system now the mix i was consdiering was the following:

Dosing recommendation for very small polyped Gorgonias (Sea Fans), delicate sponges, Dendronephtyas, Ascidians (Sea Squirts) and other non-photosynthetic Animals:
Mix 70 % Ultra Clam 10 %, Ultra-Pac and 20 % Ultra-Life with Ultra-Min S to a stiff Mash. Add as much UltraMin S until a small (1-2 mm) supernatant forms, now add 1 ampoule UltraBio.

Leave the food standing the food over night. The next day the supernatant should have disappeared. Now add a few drops of Ultra-Booster and more UltraMin S until you have a small supernatant again, and leave the food standing for a few hours. You can store the food mix for about a week.

Is this what you would recommend and also:

1 - Can i dilute mixture in RO water to allow more regular dosing to the system i.e. 1 or 2hourly

2 - Can mixtures be made in batches and frozen, and if so how long will they be fine for as i could create weekly batches for a good few months then defrost and change the food delivery container on a weekly basis.

3 - I was also going to supplement the feed with live phytoplankton, or is there any other food mixes you would recommend?

I look forward to your response.

Hi
A couple of days ago I ordered the same FM balling I have been using for years.
But when I received it I discovered that it was new packing and started to lock for it on Internet.
When locking on fauna marines homepage I found the instructions and was very surprised.

I use a totally different formula with 4 liter Osmosis water

Canister 1
288g calcium chloride dihydrate
20ml Trace B heavy metal complex
20ml Trace B strontium/barium complex

Canister 2
328g sodium bicarbonate mixture
20ml Trace B iodine/flour complex

Canister 3
220g magnesium chloride hexahydrate

And I use the same amount from all tree canisters. 390ml from each canister per day to a 250 liter sps/clam tank.

I see that fauna marine has a totally differen formula than I due to the percent for the different canisters.

Am I doing totally wrong and should change Immediately.

Best regards
Emil Larsson
Is there any problem in use only the Ultra Min S?

I have been using the balling method for 2 months already and my corals have started to stn.

I dose 115 ml of alk, which I have broken down into hand dosing 3 times a day.

I am also 25ml of alk a day.

I am running a ulns ( no bio pellets, just dosing mb7 and biofule) I do a weekly water change with esv salt.

My alk I keep at 9
My cal at 450
and my mag at 1400 to 1500

I have no idea why I am having stn issues. I do not have flat worms, or aefw as I dip with Byer pest removal.

I am out of ideas please advise. O ALso my skimmer is the octo 160 extream. I took off my mtc 250 cause the pump blew.

I have already lost 4 colonies and the tank is 2 years old. Before I used the balling salts I was dosing esv 2 part.
